Lisa Kelly Memorial Tournament
Good Sportsmanship and everyone is a winner!
It was my honour to be the official photographer of a truly magical event. I will be eternally thankful to Joe and Mark Rizzuto for introducing me to this tournament.
Opening Ceremonies
“Special Olympics Ontario is dedicated to enriching the lives of Ontarians with an intellectual disability through sport.”
That’s the mission statement right off the Ontario Special Olympics website.
The teams were led onto the pitch by a piper. A few words delivered by the leadership team, and then, “O’ Canada” was sung a cappella by Toronto Tornadoes athlete, Julian Trozzo
OPENING CEREMONY
The Toronto Azzurri Chair of the Board, Bob Iarusci; Persident,Ralph Ciccia; and General Manager Ron Smale all spoke at the Ceremony. Additionally, Joe Rizzuto spoke at both opening and closing ceremonies. Joe is the father of Lisa Kelly who the tournament is named after.
