Hockey Alumni Lunch June 3

The Dynamic Duo - Kristen Ditsch and Aleyna Sycheva

Paul Patskou and the committee members continue to hit it out of the ballpark. Their commitment ensures this remains a premier event, and we are fortunate to have several dedicated individuals working behind the scenes to make this project possible.

As the saying goes, many hands make light work, and we are excited for the future—stay tuned, as this event is only going to get better.

To one and all, thank you.

A special thank you goes to our audience members. Your passion and energy are what make this entire effort worthwhile. On a practical note, we kindly ask that you RSVP in advance and—just as importantly—ensure you attend if you have reserved a spot. This helps us maintain the appropriate staffing levels and ensures we can provide a great experience for everyone.

The memorabilia and their stories of the day, a puck and a cup

Suzanne Primeau brought her grandfather’s commemorative box, with a mini Stanley cup on the lid and the famous Barilko puck story was told. Both were shared, and people took pictures of these treasures.

The musicians at play: Chris Staig, Bill Heffernan and Michael O’Grady

Our most important guests, the attendees and worker bees!

Three photographers had the privilege of covering this event. I was fortunate to work alongside two exceptionally talented and dedicated photographers, Dan Bodanis and Dale Cogswell.

When multiple photographers are documenting the same event, there is a delicate balance to maintain. While we work as a team, we also strive to avoid capturing the exact same moments from the same perspective. That collaboration allowed each of us the freedom to explore different approaches and creative styles.

For me, that meant revisiting one of my favourite forms of photography - black and white imagery. What began as a bit of experimentation quickly became a creative journey of its own, and before long, I found myself completely immersed in it.

The collection that follows is my black-and-white portfolio from the event, a series of images that I hope captures not only the action but also the emotion, character, and spirit of the day.

To everyone who participated, thank you for being such a welcoming and cooperative community. The opportunity to document your stories and experiences is a privilege, and this photographer is deeply grateful for it.
