Helping Hands Jamaica Foundation

2026 Walkathon

The Helping Hands Jamaica Foundation 2026 Walkathon participants

Natasha Borota and the it-Factor team outdid themselves again. On May 30th, they arranged a walkathon that started and ended at the Palais Royale on the shores of Lake Ontario.

This time, I volunteered, providing documentation with my photography. This is one of my favourite groups of people. I've been deeply involved in supporting the Helping Hands Jamaica Foundation (HHJF) for several years. My commitment includes participating in three school builds: the first at St. Elizabeth Parish in 2019 and the second at Portland Parish in 2023. This cause has become a significant part of my life and our shared journey. I have now been to three builds and look forward to more builds in the future. In July 2024, my daughter Tara and I joined a group heading to Dumfries Infant/Primary School in Dumfries, St. James Parish, Jamaica, for another building project.

As part of our ongoing fundraising efforts, we recently held a successful walkathon, marking my fifth participation in this event. The walkathon showcases our collective commitment and significantly contributes to our cause. During the event, I captured heartwarming moments with my camera that reflect the warm spirit of everyone involved, which I am sharing here with their consent. Everyone's friendliness touched Tara, and I reassured her that kindness is a hallmark of those engaged in charitable work.

I'm also sharing some unique images from the event that haven't been widely seen due to space constraints. If you recognize yourself in any of these photos, please reach out, and I'll gladly share them with you at no cost.

The HHJF, a North America-based organization, aims to enhance the lives of children, young adults, and their communities through investments in education, infrastructure, health, wellness, and leadership development. The foundation's motto, 'Participate, Educate, Elevate,' underscores our belief that providing educational opportunities can dismantle barriers to a child's success.
